Tatum Paxley is a name to watch in WWE NXT

WWE NXT is stacked with a women’s roster that is swelling with talent. There are several young performers who have caught the attention of both fans and media members alike. While most focus on individuals Roxanne Perez, Kelani Jordan, and Sol Ruca, there’s another that should get some attention as well. Tatum Paxley is one such performer who has the potential to be a strong part of this division’s future.

Paxley is a performer who has been built by WWE’s tried and true process. At 27 years old she has only two years of experience, but she’s settling into a position where viewers can see the trust of her abilities growing. Each week, she’s getting more time on WWE NXT to develop not only her character but her in-ring abilities. She’s been on a winning streak within NXT dating back to May 28 when she suffered her last defeat at the hands of Michin. She’s been unstoppable since, slowly emerging as a top contender for Perez’s title.

Yet, a bigger indicator of the trust in Paxley is that she was allowed to answer Jordynne Grace’s open challenge at TNA Against All Odds on June 14. The ongoing talent trade between NXT and TNA remains one of the biggest stories in wrestling, so seeing the company put Paxley in a position such as that shows she has impressed decision-makers well enough within that brand.

Paxley’s development comes at an important time as WWE NXT retools its roster with some well-known veterans in Stephanie Vaquer and Guilia. When they finally step through that curtain, they will both need some established opposition within NXT, and Paxley can be that individual. Shawn Michaels should make sure she’s in the position to face both of them at some point because that is an experience that would greatly benefit not only her growth but also continue to strengthen the depth within the NXT women’s division.

WWE continues to strengthen its women’s division by growing the roster of young performers on NXT. Tatum Paxley is a name to watch within that group as she continues to come into her own and carve out her own position.
