We're nearly 24 hours away from the debut of WWE NXT on the CW Network, which feels like the brand is entering a new chapter. Although the logo remains the same, it still feels like when the original black and gold logo switched to the rainbow NXT 2.0 colors. The world is taking notice of how great NXT is at developing its superstars for the big stage, and one of those stars who have a great chance to prove he is a main eventer is Ethan Page.

Prior to becoming the NXT Champion, Page spent his tenure working his way through the Independent circuit, Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling (TNA), The North, and AEW before finding his home in NXT. It was also clear that Page had potential, he just needed more opportunities and the right opportunity. After being released from AEW, Page immediately got back to work in ROH before signing with WWE and making a shocking, unprecedented, and remarkable debut on NXT.

Back in May, just when we were waiting on former NXT Champion Trick Williams' next opponent for the title, Page made his debut by attacking him and seemingly other members of the locking room as well including Oro Mensah, Noam Dar, and others. This was a signing that came out of nowhere and wasn't reported by any wrestling outlet, so it was legitimately a shocking moment.

In hindsight, it ended up being a brilliant way to one; immediately made Page important and inserted him into the NXT title picture. And two; instantly made him the top heel in the men's division. It was a breath of fresh to the men's division that had just seen Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunov, Bron Breakker, and others called up to the main roster. There was a huge void that needed to be filled and Page was an instant fix.

To capitalize on making Page a hot commodity on the roster, the decision to have him "steal" the title from Williams was a brilliant one to add more fuel to the fire.

The fresh start for Page on NXT has been going incredibly well thus far. He is now the biggest heel in the men's division on Tuesday nights, and finds himself in the main event for tomorrow's big debut for NXT on the CW. Williams has been there, done that as a main eventer, now it is time for Page to execute on his chance to prove he is a main eventer. Recently, Page sat down with Chris Van Vliet to talk about his journey, winning the NXT, and much more. This clip of Page talking about winning the NXT title proves exactly why he is ready to prove himself as a main eventer.
