Days have passed since AEW All Out. The show had such an impact that people are still talking about it. With all the topics raging, there’s one that is consistent across the board. Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander stood out in a way that stole the show.

To say that Nightingale and Statlander were put in a tough spot would be an understatement. The two women walked out as the eighth match on the card. They were following a Match of the Year candidate between Will Ospreay and PAC. And they were just before a four-way match that featured one of the biggest names in wrestling in Kazuchika Okada, and three heavy favorites among AEW faithful. They were the first women’s match on the show, as much of the division focuses on Mercedes Mone. And still, they delivered beyond all expectations.

Nightingale and Statlander gave fans a match that was packed with violence and storytelling galore. The AEW women’s division has put on a few street fights over the years, but this one may take the cake as the best of the bunch.

Did they bring the violence? Of course, they did. For 15 minutes these two women battered each other in a way that was expected, but still left people raving. Some of the high spots include Nightingale hitting the pounce through the barricade, Statlander with the big Swanton through the table that leveled her opponent, the light tubes across the head, Statlander hitting the splits on the tacks, and much more. It was brutal. Different than the level of brutality that occurred in other moments in the show, but still fantastic to see.

This match also brings an important angle in the women’s division to a close. Nightingale and Statlander have been involved with each other for months. Fans knew that it would get to this point along the way. Now, the match has happened, Statlander picked up a big win and both ladies must go in different directions. Tony Khan can’t drop the ball and fail to utilize these women going forward. The momentum that both ladies were seeing before this match was already off the charts, and now he must find a way to keep that going for as long as possible.

Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander stole the show at AEW All Out. They went above and beyond to deliver an exciting match in what could be considered the “death spot” on the card. They should be heralded for their contributions to what many will remember as the best show of 2024.
