WWE WrestleMania 41 Predictions: Roman Reigns Will Bury The Rock
By Mark Justice
WWE WrestleMania 41 is one year away, and the WWE has not made any matches official for this “premium live event,” but WrestleMania 40 just took place and has already planted some long-term seeds for what the WWE Universe could expect at next year's WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes finished the story. Rhea Ripley solidified her reign. Damian Priest successfully cashed in to become World Champion. Bayley finally got her revenge on Damage Control. Under the presumption that these champs keep their titles for the full calendar year, there are some riveting stories afoot.
With that being said, the following will predict five matches that will happen at next year's show of shows, WrestleMania 41.
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Gunther [WWE Universal Championship]
Cody Rhodes and Gunther were the final two at Royal Rumble 2023. Ever since that day, the WWE fanbase has been raving about seeing these two go at it in the ring. Now that Gunther lost the IC Title to Sami Zayn at Mania 40 in a historic reign of 600+ days, he can now focus on transitioning into the main event scene on the road to WrestleMania 41. Gunther is a prime candidate to win either the rumored King of the Ring Tournament or next year's Royal Rumble in order to earn his World Title Shot and assert his dominance at the top of the card, just like he did in his prestigious IC Title run.
Prediction: Gunther
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Liv Morgan [World Women's Championship]
Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan were the final two at Royal Rumble 2023. Liv Morgan was the last individual to pin Rhea Ripley clean, and that happened in 2022. Rhea Ripley was the one who took Liv out of commission for an entire six months, and Liv Morgan is on a revenge tour to topple Ripley and become World Champion for the second time in her career. The storyline is there for the taking and is definitely WrestleMania-worthy. Morgan has a full year to enhance her credibility in the main event scene and is a top candidate to win either the rumored Queen of the Ring Tournament or the Rumble.
Prediction: Liv Morgan
Damian Priest (c) vs. CM Punk [World Heavyweight Championship]
It can be argued that CM Punk should battle Cody Rhodes for the World Title, especially since they were the final two at Royal Rumble 2024. However, CM Punk already has a more compelling story for the championship currently held by Damian Priest. At Mania 40, CM Punk screwed Drew McIntyre, allowing Priest to cash in and win the World Title. Once Punk returns from injury and defeats both Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, his final target will be Damian Priest for that World Title. Punk remains a top candidate to win the Rumble and finally main event WrestleMania for the first time in his career.
Prediction: CM Punk
Bayley (c) vs. Jade Cargill [WWE Women's Championship]
Jade Cargill was actually in the final 3 with Bayley and Liv Morgan at Royal Rumble 2024 and she earned a huge WrestleMania 40 debut victory against Damage Control. Although Jade Cargill helped Bayley fend off Damage Control, championship gold is still on her mind. Based on Cargill's character in AEW, it would not be far-fetched to see her turn heel at some point in the calendar year and go straight for Bayley's championship. Undoubtedly, Cargill is a prime candidate to win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania in the near future. The years of 2024 and 2025 will be the age of Cargill.
Prediction: Jade Cargill
Roman Reigns vs. The Rock [Dream Match]
It can be argued that The Rock should battle Cody Rhodes for the World Title, especially after he pinned Cody Rhodes in the main event tag match on Night 1, However, putting The Rock in title matches at WrestleMania should be the last thing WWE should ever prioritize. If WWE wants to do Cody vs. The Rock, it can be done at a Saudi event. The match that needs to happen at Mania 41 is Roman Reigns vs. The Rock for tribal chiefhood. The Rock will be upset that Roman speared him on Night 1, and Roman will be upset that The Rock did not help secure his World Title Reign on Night 2.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
