There have been a lot of incredible things happening this year for WWE. John Cena’s retirement tour has been a point of conversation for months now. Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer went from NXT stars to main roster champions in a matter of months. Penta and Rey Fenix have both debuted with much fanfare to fan’s delight. But the year is almost over. Since it’s the first week of November, there’s nearly 9 weeks until the new year. With 2026 on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking about what’s going to happen in WWE next year. Here are three big predictions for things to come for WWE in 2026.
Drew McIntyre Will Finally Be a Champion Once Again
Saturday Night’s Main Event was filled with great wrestling and title changes. However, Drew McIntyre once again walked out beltless. The last time he held a championship was at WrestleMania XL, where he won the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins. Unfortunately, he lost it due to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract within minutes of the win. His last actual title run came in the Thunderdome Era, where he held the WWE Title for 96 days in front of no fans. Many people, including McIntyre himself, have lamented the fact that his past two title reigns came without fans in the building. He’s came up short countless times since WWE welcomed back fans four years ago. It seems like their rage is boiling over after Saturday’s defeat. The best way to remedy that is to rightly crown McIntyre in front of fans, giving him a proper title reign.
Je’Von Evans Will Become NXT Champion
Since signing with WWE two years ago, there’s no doubt that Je’Von Evans has been nothing less than spectacular. He has taken on main roster talent, competed for several different championships, and has wowed everyone with his move set. The best part is that he’s only 21 years old. But one thing needs to happen next year to solidify himself as a future star. With Deadline coming up on December 6, he needs to be in the Iron Survivor Challenge match and get the victory for another chance at the NXT Championship. He’s been unsuccessful three separate times so far, so WWE has to pull the trigger at some point. There are several men that deserve main roster call-ups and will surely get them within the first few months of the year. A new era of NXT should be led by a charismatic and talented young champion. Je’Von Evans definitely fits those characteristics.
Kali Armstrong Will Make Waves in NXT
For many wrestling fans, Kali Armstrong might not be a household name. But for those that tune into NXT and Evolve every week, there’s a pretty good chance she’s very familiar to them. 2025 was a banner year for her in many ways. She was the very first Evolve Women’s Champion, taking down Kendal Grey, Kylie Rae, and Wendy Choo in a fatal four way elimination match. Her reign as champion lasted 140 days before being beaten by Grey at Evolve: Succession. She’s athletic, strong, and powerful, which has caught a lot of people’s attention. There’s surely going to be some call-ups in the near future for the women’s division, which means women from Evolve will be on NXT full time. Given her athleticism and charisma, Armstrong should definitely thrive in NXT.
