WrestleMania Week is finally here. The biggest PLE of the year is set for Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20 from Las Vegas. One of the biggest matches of the night pits John Cena against Cody Rhodes, with the latter defending the WWE Undisputed Championship. This is a huge match that will headline one of the two nights. But it is not the last time fans will see Cena, as he’s scheduled to appear at the important Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania.
The Raw after Mania is considered the most important episode of the weekly show each year. WrestleMania typically marks the end of several of the biggest angles in the promotion, and the company begins to gear up for the next year, building to WrestleMania 42. There are surprise returns, matches and more.
The April 21 episode is especially important because fans are interested in what creative direction Triple H will take. The WWE roster features some new names like Penta, and the returning Rusev, so how will they fit into the show?
Fans anticipate John Cena to take the title from Cody Rhodes
Advertising Cena for the show creates speculation that he will defeat Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. Fans are well informed that this is Cena’s last year of in-ring action, as he will retire on December 31. Seeing him win the title at WrestleMania would be a history-making moment as he’d break his tie with Ric Flair for the most championship title reigns.
Further igniting that speculation is the post that Rhodes is not advertised for that show. Does that mean he’s going to take a defeat at Cena’s hands and need the time to regroup? Perhaps, and that’s all the anticipation fans need to run with that idea.
Along with John Cena, others are planned for the episode. Gunther, Jey Uso, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Lyra Valkyria are all announced. As always, expect WWE to pull out some surprises, especially on the heels of its biggest show to date.
