WWE NXT Battleground is the site where Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace will battle for the NXT World Title in the main event. There will also be three other title matches and a personal rivalry match between Tony D' Angelo and Channing Stacks Lorenzo. The following will provide some rationalized predictions for who will win those five announced matches, as well as any special angles that could take place to further storylines on the road to WWE NXT Heatwave 2025 this summer.
Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Jordynne Grace [NXT World Title]
Jordynne Grace seems to be the best option on the NXT roster to dethrone Stephanie Vaquer, so it is quite surprising that this title match is happening so soon after Vaquer won the NXT World Title. However, Vaquer's push has been eminently astronomical and her connection with the fans has been so unparalleled that it wouldn't be surprising to see Vaquer drop the title here and get called up to the main roster whilst Grace uses the NXT Title to establish herself in NXT after leaving TNA.
Prediction: Jordynne Grace
Oba Femi (c) vs. Myles Borne [NXT World Title]
Oba Femi will not lose to a star who has never been in a world title match and thereby lacks the credibility and momentum needed to be a threat to the title. It is likely that Femi won't lose the title to anyone anytime soon. J'Evon Evans was the best shot at dethroning Femi due to the David vs. Goliath storyline he has with him. Other than that, there has not been a contender for that title who felt like a threat to Femi's title reign. Femi might have to relinquish that belt to go to the main roster.
Prediction: Oba Femi
Tony D' Angelo vs. Channing Stacks Lorenzo [Personal Rivalry]
Stacks double-crossed Tony D' Angelo at NXT Stand and Deliver during their match against Dark State. It seems that Stacks needs to win this match to solidify his heel turn and continue his tirade within the mid-card on NXT, as he could be a prime candidate to dethrone Ricky Saints down the line. As for Tony D, he has overstayed his welcome in NXT and has already accomplished all he could. With the draft coming up, he should get called up to the main roster after he puts over his Mafia comrade.
Prediction: Channing Stacks Lorenzo
Sol Ruca (c) vs. Kelani Jordan [NXT North American Title]
Sol Ruca just won the NXT North American Title at Stand and Deliver, so she will not be losing the title this soon, especially to the inaugural NXT North American Champion in Kelani Jordan who does not have a storyline reason to win the title back right now. Zaria seems like the most likely candidate to dethrone Sol Ruca down the line due to their shaky alliance and teased dissension. WWE planted the seeds for this when Sol Ruca kicked Zaria off the ladder at Stand and Deliver to win the title.
Prediction: Sol Ruca
Joe Hendry (c) vs. Trick Williams [TNA World Title]
Joe Hendry got some solid exposure in his WrestleMania match with Randy Orton, and it seems that WWE is planting seeds for him to become a main staple on NXT television. He will undoubtedly retain his TNA World Title here, as it would not make any sense for Trick Williams, who has overstayed his welcome in NXT, to win the TNA World Title when he should be focused on getting called up to the main roster. Once Hendry loses the TNA World Title, Hendry could become a future NXT Champion.
