Rumors and speculation are a big part of professional wrestling. Fans want to stay in the know of all the workings behind the scenes, and how they impact what happens in front of the cameras. Several outlets work tirelessly to uncover the news that promotions do not want fans to know. Looking ahead to this week, here are three interesting rumors that have popped up in recent days.

WWE has interest in former AEW Tag Team Champions, Private Party

Fightful Select and Wrestling Observer reported on Private Party and their status with All Elite Wrestling. Quen and Zay rose through the ranks of AEW, gaining a large fan following along the way. That came to a head in October 2024, when the duo finally won the AEW Tag Team titles from The Young Bucks.

However, that momentum would not last long, as the tag team division was greatly relegated to the background in AEW. Private Party would eventually lose the tag team titles to The Hurt Syndicate in January and have not been on AEW television since. Their last match was in House of Glory on March 15. Reports are that they are in a contract year, and there’s growing interest in the talents from WWE. Fightful Select reported hearing of initial interest back in June but were not informed if the WWE approached the team or if AEW offered them new deals.

American Gladiators already has “heat” from one side of the table

The full roster for American Gladiators was announced and there are several names on the list that wrestling fans will recognize. AEW has multiple members of its roster on the show. Wardlow and Kamille are both set to be performers on the show. Remember Rick Boogz from WWE? He’s also on the show. However, the rumors of issues popping up came when it was revealed that The Miz is set to host.

The Wrestling Observer reported that there were “issues from one side” over The Miz being on the same show with AEW performers. Many speculated that said problems came from the WWE, which has a long history of these types of issues, often blocking performers from being involved in projects outside of the company or with names from other promotions.

WWE Hall of Famer set for return

There’s news about one major name returning to WWE Monday Night Raw this week. Goldberg is heading back to face off against new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. But he’s not the only name rumored to return. WrestleVotes reported that Trish Stratus is also heading back into the fold and is supposed to return to SmackDown.

It would make sense to see Trish Stratus involved, as WWE is gearing up for Evolution II on July 13. Stratus would be a great name to have on the card, and her star power would help elevate the show. There are many wrestlers who would benefit from being paired against her. Imagine Stratus against the likes of Liv Morgan, Jordynne Grace, or Bayley. WWE could even go in a completely surprising direction and pit her against a name from NXT like Sol Ruca. Stratus still draws a lot of attention, and bringing her back at this time makes the most sense.
