Adrian Neville

Ever since Rey Mysterio’s injury woes began, WWE has been in search of a wrestler to emerge as an heir apparent. This isn’t to say that Mysterio would be immediately replaced, but instead to acknowledge that a younger option could fill his original role as the top high-flyer.

Adrian Neville is the superstar that WWE has been waiting for.

The best way to describe Neville is as a buffer, stronger and perhaps safer version of Evan Bourne. That’s no knock on Bourne, who truly is one of the best in-ring performers on the planet, but instead a compliment to Neville for his ability to take what works and address the flaws.

There’s still work to do, but Neville is dangerously close to something big.

He must improve on the mic, but the British star’s exhilarating high-flying is paired with crisp technique and surprising power that adds an interesting dynamic to every match. He can go against any genre of wrestler and make both himself and his opponent look outstanding.

That’s a major reason why he’s the reigning NXT Champion. It’s also why he needs to get a call-up as soon as possible.

WWE can do nothing but benefit from pushing the wrestler formerly known as PAC to the top.
