Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

Result: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows defeat Cesaro and Sheamus to win the Raw Tag Team Championship.

Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars

As is the case with the majority of his tag team matches, Cesaro is the star of the show. He’s a terrific singles wrestler, and typically shines in this scenario.

The story of this match would be having two referees since, you know, the one that’s usually supposed to be capable enough isn’t. It played a role, though, as the ringside referee caught a leveraged pin attempt and the one inside the ring took a Brogue Kick from Sheamus.

With one referee in the ring who seemingly can’t do this alone, he counted to three when Anderson got the successful pin with the hold of the tights. This gave he and Gallows their illustrious first-ever title reign in WWE after at least a half-dozen attempts since April 2016.

It took the former IWGP Tag Team Champions a while to reach the top of the tag team division, but they finally achieved it. This win, however, comes months after they probably needed to win and when they had heat. So is January 2017 too late for Anderson and Gallows?
