Adam Cole Gives ROH Farewell Speech at TV Taping (Video)

Adam Cole competed for Ring of Honor one last time on Sunday night and issued a goodbye to its fans.

At Friday night’s Ring of Honor War of the Worlds pay-per-view, Adam Cole lost to Hiroshi Tanahashi and got kicked out of Bullet Club. It looked like a curtain call for Cole, when The Young Bucks came to the ring, until Kenny Omega’s popped up on the big screen. He spoke out against Cole, fired him from Bullet Club and immediately brought in his replacement — ROH TV Champion Marty Scurll.

Moments later, Matt and Nick Jackson superkicked Cole, and Scurll attacked him to close this turn of events. It marked the likely end of the first three-time ROH World Champion’s run with the company.

On Sunday, Cole competed at ROH’s TV taping, which turned out to be his last appearance. He gave a farewell speech to the fans at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA, reliving his days in the squared circle.

Part of Cole’s speech said the following (h/t Wrestling Inc for transcription):

"No matter what happens going forward, I just want each and every one of you to know that I deeply love you and Ring of Honor will always be my home. And I’ll end it with this, since she’s here, Mom… Happy Mother’s Day!”"

Cole’s future in wrestling hasn’t been determined, but the lack of answers may point to him going to WWE. Talents have typically stayed quiet before arriving to the Leader in Sports Entertainment, so this could be what Cole is doing if he has a deal struck with them.

If the former PWG Champion is headed to WWE, could he start in NXT? He would join fellow former ROH stars, Roderick Strong, Kassius Ohno and Tommaso Ciampa. This brand always needs an extra Superstar or two, too, as they’re always at risk for having the roster gutted by the main roster. Cole could provide depth for this, if someone like Bobby Roode or Aleister Black becomes the next star to move up.
