Cena told Renee that he has realized that the WWE Universe hasn’t turned on him and that they are still passionate about him, one way or the other. Cena said he’s going to turn that passion into motivation for his fight this Sunday. I know people moaned and groaned at “same old Cena” after this interview, but I think Cena’s going to lose at Extreme Rules, and I think it all plays into this story they’re telling. If he wins, I’ll be one of the most upset fans there is, and I am a big fan of Cena’s.
Bad News Barrett promo/Bad News Barrett vs. Rob Van Dam in the finals of the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Tournament
Barrett had some bad news for RVD. He said that WWE’s slogan is “Then. Now. Forever.”, but RVD’s would just be “Then.” because Barrett was in diapers when RVD was relevant. Barrett then did RVD’s thumb point, but said “B. N. B.” instead.
Barrett hit a Bad News Bullhammer after RVD got distracted by Cesaro. RVD fended off Swagger and Cesaro, but they both proved to be too much for him and Barrett got the win. Cesaro went to attack after the match, but Swagger took him out to get RVD all for himself. RVD took Swagger out though, and hit Cesaro with a Five-Star Frog Splash. Way too much going on here, but Barrett is the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship, and it appears that RVD, Cesaro and Swagger will meet in a Triple Threat Match.
