Six-Pack Challenge for the WWF Championship with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special outside enforcer
Triple H vs. The Rock vs. Mankind vs. Kane vs. Big Show vs. The British Bulldog
This match was chaotic.
Two guys in the ring at once, with guys forced to tag in … very confusing as why you would want to tag someone in with the title on the line, but hey it was a simpler time.
I’m not telling you to skip ahead, but you’ll be glued to the screen for the last 10 minutes of the main event. It’s a galore of near falls and finishing moves.
Action hits its climax as Big Show hits a Showstopper on Mankind and goes for the cover, as the ref’s hand is coming down for the three count a group of officials yanks the ref from the ring and starts to beat him down.
This prompts Stone Cold to leave commentary to clean house with some haymakers on the interjecting officials. This guy isn’t even in the match yet he is still the main attraction; the crowd loves Austin so much it gives me chills.
Stone Cold is proving his versatility as he has now crowned himself as the legal ref. See, what did I say about it being a simpler time?
Austin crushes Bulldog with a chair shot as HHH hits The Rock with a Pedigree; Austin is forced to reluctantly count the three.
If you’re into stereotypical Attitude Era pay-per-views – like me – then this one will keep you entertained for the most part. The main event alone makes this event worth a watch. Also, I have to give credit where it’s due, Jerry Lawler is at his absolute all-time best as the heel commentator.
