Evan Bourne vs. Chris Jericho
Head and shoulders the best match on this card. It’s a shame the recently released Bourne could never stay healthy, because he was brilliant in this one.
I don’t have enough fingers or time to count the number of near-falls from this match.
Bourne and Y2J continue to turn up the temp as the match progresses, with Jericho nailing a handful of beautifully executed moves. From his bridging German Suplex to his Walls of Jericho reversal to his perfectly timed Codebreaker … Jericho was putting on a clinic.
Thankfully, Bourne was a co-teacher at this clinic, as he defied the laws of physics leaping in, out and around the ring. He played the role of the ultimate underdog to a T.
After missing an Air Bourne earlier that resulted in a Codebreaker, Bourne throws Y2J from the top-rope and nails his finisher with Jericho’s back facing up.
