Hulk Hogan (WWF Champion w/ Mr. T) vs. Cowboy Bob Orton (w/ Rowdy Roddy Piper)

It’s almost 30 years later and Hulk Hogan’s music still pops a crowd. Crazy when you think about that kind of longevity. We’re treated to Hogan and Mr. T ripping each other’s shirts off in a sign of solidarity…that’s what we’re going with.

They get off to a hot start as the competitors exchange punches. Orton gets slammed four consecutive times as Hogan is fired up in the ring and Orton gets consoled by Piper. Ventura appreciates that tactic.

"“Bob Orton is a wily veteran…and he’s also got the superplex.” – Ventura"

In hindsight, McMahon really wasn’t that bad of a play-by-play guy.

Hogan bites Orton, then bashes the cast into the turnbuckle. When looking closely at Hogan, it’s amusing how many heel tendencies he had back in the day — even though he was 100 percent “good guy.”

This was the kind of typical Hogan match…sell, sell, sell…super comeback on the way. Orton punished him over and over with elbows, knees and punches, but the scary eyes have returned and Hogan starts his comeback.

Clothesline, leg drop, 10 punches in the corner…turned into an atomic drop by Orton. Cowboy Bob sets Hogan on the top rope, looking for the Superplex, as we see security rushing to deal with a rabid fan.

Orton gets knocked off the top, with Hogan dropping the hammer off the top. Here comes another leg drop…one…two…Roddy Piper breaks it up and the bell rings. Mr. T comes in to help, with Paul Orndorff not far behind. The heels see that the numbers are not in their favor as they skulk away to the back.

Hogan defeats Orndorff via DQ

3 out of 5 stars — Nothing too offensive in this match, other than the lousy DQ finish.
