Seth Rollins defeats Dean Ambrose in a Lumberjack Match

Mike Smith’s Take:

I’m going to go out on a limb and call this the greatest Lumberjack Match ever.

Most credit goes to Ambrose and Rollins, especially Ambrose, but the Lumberjacks were great throughout the whole match.

I picked Ambrose to win, but I certainly wasn’t surprised to see Rollins come out on top. Interesting to see him almost lose to his own move, needing help from Kane and his briefcase to pick up the victory. I’m sure Kane will have something to say about that tomorrow on Raw.

Rob Wolkenbrod’s Take:

The expected match of the night was in fact the match of the night.

It was the best Lumberjack match that we have seen. For a usually underwhelming match gimmick, it played out so well. It started from SmackDown a few weeks ago when Ambrose sold all of us on why this type of match would work and concluded with us saying “Wow, this type of match worked out very well.”

Rollins and Ambrose’s wrestling skills were shown off in this match in their first PPV singles match and they certainly delivered. Seth won in typical heel fashion with some assistance, but it fit the stooge side of him very well. These two certainly have much more to tell us.
