WWE NXT Preview: NXT Championship on the Line

Today on the WWE Network at either 4 pm ET or 9 pm ET, the next edition of WWE NXT will be out!

The two big matches of the show that we will focus on are Sasha Banks vs. Bayley and Adrian Neville vs. Titus O’Neil for the NXT Championship. Both of them should be very entertaining contests that sets up more for the future.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley

Banks and Bayley have been in a battle to be the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship for some time now.

It began during the summer, when Bayley defeated Banks to face Charlotte at NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way for the title. The Boss wouldn’t be forgotten, though, as she would come out to insult Bayley on the fallout show and proclaim that she wants to go after the title from Charlotte. A few weeks later, Banks would attack her backstage to continue their feud.

Now these two will face off again with even more animosity than the first time. This will almost feel like a #1 contender’s match again since whoever wins will probably get the next shot at the Nature Girl’s title.

The wild card in all of this is Becky Lynch. Banks told her on last week’s episode to “look at herself in the mirror” after her back-to-back losses to herself and Charlotte. We could see the Irish woman’s heel turn completed if she decides to align herself with Banks. This could be seen at some point during the match if she thinks the Boss needs help fending off Bayley.

Adrian Neville vs. Titus O’Neil – NXT Championship Match

Titus O’Neil has been targeting the top of the NXT roster since he appeared on the show late last month.

He appeared on the September 18 episode in the ring because he felt that since the NXT stars like Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn took up some of his time on Raw, he had every right to take up some of their time. This would lead to a match of O’Neil and Tyson Kidd vs. Neville and Zayn. The former pair would pick up the win here.

A few weeks later, Neville would face Kidd for the NXT Championship. O’Neil would come through the crowd with a ticket to show that he was just there to be a fan. That wouldn’t end up being the case by the end of the match. He would show that he had every intention of interfering in the match and costing Neville the title. Just as he was about to do so, Zayn came running out from the back to save his friend and gave one half of Slater Gator a Helluva Kick.

This would lead to a match between O’Neil and Zayn that would result in the wrestler formerly known as El Generico taking the loss. As the former Florida Gator was about to inflict more damage, Neville came out to return the favor and save Zayn.

Now this has led to a match between Neville and O’Neil for the NXT Championship. The Man That Gravity Forgot should likely retain the title and end the program with O’Neil, but these two should still put on a match that features two heavily contrasting styles.
