WWE NXT DeadLine 2023 Predictions: Trick Williams Will NOT Become Iron Survivor

facebooktwitterreddit

WWE NXT DeadLine 2023 is next Saturday, and WWE has already announced four matches for this “premium live event”: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Baron Corbin for the NXT Title, Dirty Dom (c) vs. Wes Lee for the NXT North American Championship, and the Iron Survivor Matches. Since Lola Vice won the NXT Breakout Tournament, Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Lola Vice for the NXT Women’s Title will likely be added to the card as well. It is uncertain whether The Family will defend the tag titles at this PLE, as they have been dealing mostly with Chase University and Los Lotharios recently.

With that being said, the following will provide some foolproof match card predictions for what should be the biggest NXT event of the winter: WWE NXT DeadLine 2023.

WWE NXT DeadLine is scheduled to take place on December 9, 2023, live on Peacock. Here are the full match card predictions.

Trick Williams vs. Dijak vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Josh Briggs vs. Bron Breakker [Iron Survivor Challenge]

Trick Williams is the betting favorite to win this Iron Survivor Challenge, but he won’t win it because Carmelo Hayes will inadvertently screw him over and elicit more dissension in their friendship. Lexis King may even get involved too since he is feuding with Hayes as well. Either way, Hayes and Williams will cancel each other out and Dijak and Josh Briggs have no chance of winning. By process of elimination, Bron Breakker is winning the Iron Survivor Challenge because as a former NXT Champion, he will put over Dragunov before getting called up to the main roster.

Prediction: Bron Breakker

Tifaany Stratton vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Lash Legend vs. Blair Davenport [Iron Survivor Challenge]

Blair Davenport is the betting favorite to win this Iron Survivor Challenge, and she actually will win it because she is the best built heel in NXT to dethrone Lyra Valkyria for the title. Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne already had their chance in the limelight and should have been called up already. Kelani Jordan and Lash Legend has as much of a chance of winning this match as the Cleveland Cavaliers have at winning another championship for their franchise without Lebron James in the next 15 years. Blair Davenport is undoubtedly winning this to solidify her heel run.

Prediction: Blair Davenport

Dirty Dom (c) vs. Wes Lee [NXT North American Championship]

Dirty Dom will retain the NXT North American Title because Wes Lee will get called up to the main roster. It would be counterproductive to give Wes Lee back the North American Title when he could do so much more on SmackDown in that U.S. Title Tournament, which did announce an NXT Call Up. Dirty Dom will continue to solidify the dominance of Judgment Day with Rhea Ripley helping him nefariously win this match. It also seems likely that he won’t lose the title until Stand & Deliver since the rest of Judgment Day likely won’t lose their titles until WrestleMania 40.

Prediction: Dirty Dom

Lyra Valkyria (c) vs. Lola Vice [NXT Championship]

Lyra Valkyria will retain the NXT Championship against NXT Breakout Tournament Winner, Lola Vice because this is her first PPV title defense and her reigns deserves to be adequately lengthy after defeating Becky Lynch in what was the biggest victory of her career. Although Lola Vice should solidify her NXT Breakout Tournament victory with a championship win, she has been built on that level yet in NXT. A rub in the form of a loss here would do her wonders in the long term, as she will have a strong showing and redeem herself down the line. Lyra will focus on Blair for 2024.

Prediction: Lyra Valkyria

Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Baron Corbin [NXT Championship]

Ilja Dragunov will retain the NXT Title against Baron Corbin because the day Baron Corbin becomes NXT Champion will be the death of NXT, If Baron Corbin becomes the NXT Champion, WWE should extract the term “line” from “NXT Deadline” and that will encapsulate the pernicious future for the state of NXT. With that being said, Ilja Dragunov will continue his reign and focus on the heel Bron Breakker rather than the babyface, Trick Williams, at NXT New Years Evil, where he will defeat former NXT Champ, Bron Breakker, to solidify his reign on the road to Stand & Deliver.

Prediction: Ilja Dragunov
