More from Royal Rumble

The Royal Rumble is always one of the most entertaining things that WWE puts on every year. It may just be a gimmick match, but it is a lot of fun. You usually never know who’s coming out after every ninety seconds, so it keeps the fans on the edge of their seats. Plus, the winner of this match goes on to main event WrestleMania in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.

Another fun part about the Royal Rumble is the surprise entrants. They are usually either a star returning from injury or a legend.

Seeing the legends compete, even for a brief time, is always very cool. Over the years, we have seen legends like Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Kevin Nash, Jimmy Snuka, and Roddy Piper return for a few minutes in the ring in this type of match.

So who could be among the returning legends this year? PWInsider Elite, via Wrestling Inc., hears of one name and another star that could be returning from injury.

"WWE’s current plan is for Bo Dallas to make his return in the 30-man Royal Rumble main event later this month. It was announced on November 3rd that Bo suffered a foot injury and would be out of action for 6-8 weeks. There’s also been a heavy push within WWE for Diamond Dallas Page to be a surprise entrant in the Rumble this year and he’s expected to be in the match."

Diamond Dallas Page was one of WCW’s biggest stars in the 1990’s. He was even there before the Monday Nitro era began. DDP had a brief run in WWE after Vince McMahon bought WCW, but it did not last long due to age and a stack of injuries.

If this turns out to be true, it will be good to see Bo Dallas return at the Rumble. How much of a crowd reaction he receives from a Philadelphia audience that is expected to be “hot” will be interesting. WWE didn’t do many favors for his booking since he came to the main roster last summer, so he may not get much of a pop at all.

This was not mentioned in the report, but seeing Sheamus return wouldn’t be a surprise. He has been out since the go-home Monday Night Raw before Survivor Series due to injury. He was taken out, in storyline, by Mark Henry. The Celtic Warrior was a surprise return from injury last year as well after recovering from a shoulder injury.

So, will you be looking forward to seeing Diamond Dallas Page and Bo Dallas possibly return?
