TNA Wrestling: Who Will Go in to the Hall of Fame?

facebooktwitterreddit

Every year TNA Wrestling inducts one member into their Hall of Fame.  While the ceremony isn’t as elaborate as the WWE’s Hall of Fame – it is still an honor for any wrestler I’m sure to be inducted into any organizations Hall of Fame.

TNA started this tradition in 2012 when they inducted Sting.  In 2013, Kurt Angle was the recipient but refused it at first until he thought he had a lot more to prove and when the time was right he would accept it.  Regardless, Angle is the second member of the Hall.  And last year Team 3D Bully Ray and Devon were inducted.

So where does that leave TNA with this year’s inductee?  Everyone’s first choice would probably be Jeff Jarrett – after all if not for him there would be no TNA today.  But if that was going to happen – it should have happened three years ago.  He should have been the inaugural member.

My belief is they put Sting in as a bargaining chip to keep him with the company – probably the same could be said for Angle and Team 3D.

Jarrett has moved on it seems and is at peace with his decision to walk away from TNA and has his hands full with trying to get GWF off the ground and running.  So it is safe to say he will not be the one this year or for any year for the foreseeable future.

Ken Shamrock would be a logical choice.  Still active in training and now getting ready for a bare-knuckles fight at some point in April of this year.  Shamrock was the first NWA-TNA World Champion after winning the Gauntlet for the Gold match in 2002.

Shamrock has said in recent interviews that he would like another opportunity to wrestle in the WWE – maybe TNA could offer this to him to get his attention to work for them short-term.

Chyna is another name that could bring some attention.  She did make an appearance for the company – and with her recent rants on social media against Triple H and the WWE – maybe you could get her to do the same on television and get a little buzz.  She wouldn’t be my first choice but it is an option.

An interesting one could be Ekmo Fatu better known as Umaga.  With the induction of Rikishi this year into the WWE Hall of Fame and Roman Reigns WrestleMania performance – maybe you could get a little attention from the family of Fatu to come over to TNA.  There were reports of some family members being upset that Reigns didn’t win the title – it may work to induct Fatu.

Other names I thought of that could garner some interest:  Kamala, The Great Muta, Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, Jushin Thunder Liger, and Raven.  All of these wrestlers were in the promotion at one time or another.  Any of these wrestlers would be good choices in my opinion.

Shamrock seems like a logical choice, as wood Funk and RVD.  I’m not sure if RVD would agree to it with his on-again-off again relationship with the WWE but that is the kind of chance TNA should make.
