With Paige Written Off TV, Who Should Face Nikki Bella?
After winning a Divas Battle Royal on Monday Night Raw, Paige was maliciously attacked by a newly-aggressive and fierce Naomi and has been ruled out of action for a while. So, who should be the new No. 1 contender to Nikki Bella’s Divas Championship?
During Monday Night Raw last night, Paige won a Divas Battle Royal to become the new No. 1 contender for the Divas Championship.

Shortly after her victory in front of her homeland fans in England, Paige was attacked by Naomi, who made a rather intriguing turn and gained a little more momentum that she’s built in the last few weeks.
Earlier today, WWE.com issued an update on Paige’s condition after Naomi’s attack last night:
"UPDATE 4/14/2015: Following a medical consultation, Paige’s doctors have advised her not to compete until further notice.LONDON — Naomi’s attack on Paige following the Divas Battle Royal has left the No. 1 contender to the Divas Title injured.Though the specifics have yet to be confirmed, early reports suggest that Paige suffered internal injuries as a result of the attack, which saw The Diva of Tomorrow beaten outside the ring and thrown into the barricade repeatedly."
Paige was likely written off television for a while to star in a WWE Studios film titled, Santa’s Little Helper, which will also included The Miz in the cast.
According to WrestlingRumors.net, Paige “should return after filming has been completed in about three-to-four weeks.”
With Paige out of the title picture, who should be next in line to face Divas Champion Nikki Bella at Extreme Rules?
The answer is almost too simple: Naomi.
Sure, a title match with seemingly two heels doesn’t make a ton of sense (three if you include Brie), but what other direction could the booking go with just 12 days left before the pay-per-view?
Yeah, believe me, I would love to see NXT continue their hot run of call-ups with a Charlotte or a Sasha Banks bursting onto the main roster scene too.
But let’s be realistic here: Naomi has pinned Nikki Bella twice in the last three weeks and asserted her dominance over Paige on Raw last night, despite the battle royal loss.
Naomi is the only Diva that’s in the picture for a title match.
Think about it: Paige is gone for a while, Natalya’s busy with the Cesaro/Tyson Kidd pairing, Layla had surgery in January, most don’t even know Alicia Fox is even on the roster and Rosa Mendes was just “dumped” by Fandango last night.
Naomi is perched on a wave of momentum right now with her new attitude. She’s been consistent in the last few weeks and deserves a title match booking.
And, when Paige returns from Hollywood, WWE’s creative team will have themselves a solid program with Naomi and Paige possibly dueling over the Divas Championship.
