The Pedigree

Triple H – The Game even if you don’t like him, you have to admit that his finisher “The Pedigree” is awesome. Of course if you’re one who is really anti-Triple H and very much pro-CM Punk and you’re a long time fan of Punk than you may say that the “Pepsi Plunge” is a far better variation of the move. It is a matter of preference but for those who don’t know the difference between the two – the “Pepsi Plunge” is from the top rope. It was a move Punk used quite often in his days before WWE.

As much of a fan of Punk as I am – I’m just as much of a fan of Triple H. I’ll always look at this move as his and his alone. When Triple H was just Hunter Hearst Helmsley the pompous “Blueblood” – I wasn’t a fan of his but his finisher got my attention.  That was the only reason why I didn’t mind seeing him win the match.

I think Mick Foley took the move the best (and probably the most) especially since he took many of those “Pedigree’s” with a chair underneath his face when it hit.

It used to be that when a wrestler was put in the similar situation of a head facing down between the legs of his opponent that he was soon to be a victim of a “piledriver” or a “power bomb” – but that has changed in the last 10-15 years.  The “piledriver” not being used at all in the WWE helps but the fact that Triple H brought this move to the forefront of most famous finishers is the true reason for that.
