Everybody has been weighing in on their predictions for the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao bout on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
WWE’s Booker T and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler spoke with Sporting News a few days ago and gave their thoughts on what to expect in Vegas on Saturday.
The five-time (FIVE-TIME!) WCW Champion and former King of the Ring Booker T said,
"“Pacquiao is going to come out there and do his best. But I think Mayweather is going to go out there and beat him in all facets of the fight. I think he’s going be a better defensive and offensive fighter. I think if it even got into a brawl, Mayweather would even win that due to the clinch. I think Mayweather is going to win the fight.”"
Lawler on the other hand, couldn’t decide who’s going to win the so-called “fight of the decade”. Lawler said,
"“Oh my gosh. Ordinarily, in almost any fight I can think of, I would pick a winner because I would have somebody in mind. I have no clue. Both of these guys are so evenly matched. I just got to say it’s a tossup. I’m going to enjoy it. I’m going to watch it. But I have no clue who will win. In all honesty, I don’t really have a favorite even though Floyd Mayweather has come to work with us in WWE. He’s a great character and a cool guy to be around. I have nothing against Manny Pacquiao. I like his style and I like his fights. To me, this is going to be one of those fights where I just watch two guys beat the hell out of each other and I’m just going to sit back and have fun watching it.”"
Mayweather has some affiliation with WWE, performing and defeating Big Show in a match at WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, FL back in 2008.
Personally, Mayweather is the bigger and better fighter. If this fight happened five years ago, you could make an argument for Pacquiao on Saturday night.
The bout should be quite a show, but I like Mayweather by unanimous decision in what could turn into a big-time brawl of a fight in the ring.
