Sheamus vs. Dean Ambrose

Result: Dean Ambrose defeats Sheamus via pinfall.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

  • Sheamus immediately targeted Ambrose’s injured left leg that he hurt last night at Money in the Bank. This became the focus of the match.
  • After commercial we see Ambrose’s leg continue to be attacked.
  • Ambrose finally worked back with punches and chops before hitting Sheamus with a neck-breaker.
  • Ambrose was hit with a rolling senton off the rope and then put into the Cloverleaf submission hold, which he got his hand on the rope for.
  • Ambrose got offense back with a top rope elbow and a huge lariat.
  • After a Dirty Deeds attempt, Sheamus rolled out of the way, which led to Randy Orton coming out. Sheamus went for a Brogue, missed and got pinned by Ambrose.
  • After the match, Orton came in and attacked Sheamus, sending Mr. MITB in peril.

Rob’s Note: Good storytelling in the match, plus Ambrose got the win. As for Orton and Sheamus, their Raw matches have been pretty slow. However, we have not seen them on the PPV stage in these respective roles. Plus they are both very good in the ring so maybe they can put on something great at Battleground.

Seth Rollins with J&J

Rollins starts mocking Mercury and Noble and says he “told them so.” He said he’s willing to bring them back on board if they have inside info on his new opponent. Noble declines and says he wouldn’t give him any info.

Mercury says he thinks Rollins is afraid of him. He says the record books will always show how Rollins lost to J&J Security. He says it’s when, not if he loses the title at this point.
