wwe.com
The show opens with a run down of the matches tonight: Rusev vs Owens, Sasha Banks & Naomi vs The Bella Twins, and the main event Cesaro vs Seth Rollins. Dena Ambrose is out for the first match and we get a recap of him and Reigns fighting off the Wyatt Family last week.
Dean Ambrose vs Sheamus
Result: Sheamus def. Ambrose by pinfall (Brogue Kick)
Rating: 2.6 stars out of 5 stars
Sheamus cuts a prom on the way to the ring and calls Ambrose a coward. He says there’s no escape from their match tonight and he’s going to kick Ambrose’s ass. Ambrose agrees with the WWE universe and says that Sheamus looks stupid.
They trade control for a bit before Ambrose gets the upper hand briefly. Sheamus nails Ambrose with a forearm, but Dean comes back with a tornado DDT off the apron as we go to break.
Back form break and Sheamus is trying to get a superplex on Ambrose. He ends up settling for knocking Ambrose off the ropes and begins targeting Ambrose’s knee. Ambrose starts getting some momentum, pulling down the top rope as Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick sending him t the outside.
As Ambrose is in control, the lights go out and Bray Wyatt heads to the ramp. Luke Harper is behind Ambrose on the announce table. As Ambrose goes for Harper, he gets his head taken off with a Brogue Kick. Another Brogue Kick in the ring and Sheamus picks up the win.
This match did what it was supposed to do: further the feud between Ambrose and the newly formed Wyatt Family while making Sheamus look strong. It wasn’t a special match but it did the job.
