The main event at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn will be Finn Balor defending his NXT Championship against Kevin Owens in a ladder match. This will be the biggest match in NXT’s brief history.

The build for this match started when NXT GM William Regal made the announcement that this main event NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn last month. Owens gets his rematch and Balor gets his first title defense out of it.

Brandon’s Prediction:

I’m a sucker for the spoilers, and apparently Owens appeared with he belt during the August 26th NXT taping, so I’m going with him.

Prediction: Kevin Owens

Callum’s Prediction:

This ladder match is the perfect environment for Finn Balor and Kevin Owens to conclude their rivalry in NXT, as its jeopardy and physicality mixes supremely well with both their talents. The feud has been slightly difficult to carry due to Owens’ commitments to the main roster, but that shouldn’t prevent both from having an exceptional contest with plenty of near misses and high spots. With Owens gradually completing his transition away from NXT, it seems only sensible that Balor retains the title here and prepares for a new foe at the next Takeover.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Carl’s Prediction:

What can you say about this match? Owens has a great history of ladder matches, Balor has that inner Demon that will push Owens to the limit before taking the win. Both men can hold their own in the ring, the addition of the ladder adds a whole new dimension to this rivalry. This match will rank amongst the best ladder matches in WWE history, and both men will go on to be the future of WWE.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Evan G’s Prediction:

Balor won the NXT title from Owens back at Beast in the East. Owens is pulling double duty this weekend and also wrestling at SummerSlam, just like Becky Lynch, Charlotte, and Sasha Banks. Owens will be successful at SummerSlam when facing Cesaro, but not at TakeOver. Balor will retain and move on to a new challenger, and Owens will be on to the main roster for good.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Jordan’s Prediction:

Can we stop for a minute and go back to Wednesday and re-live the greatness of Kevin Owens’ promo? Forget anything that you see on Sunday night at SummerSlam, the NXT Championship ladder match between Owens and Finn Balor will be the match of the year. This match will also serve as the perfect closing chapter for Owens’ time in NXT. Owens is working double-duty as a main roster talent and NXT talent. But, with a loss to Balor on Saturday, Owens’ excellent run in NXT will come to an end as he moves exclusively to the main roster.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Rob’s Prediction:

This match is going to be incredible, no doubt about it. Balor and Owens are going to pull out all the stops to make sure this is the best NXT match ever. I can’t see Balor dropping the title so soon, though. He’s going to become the face of NXT while Owens becomes a full-time member of the main roster and moves onto face Cesaro tomorrow night at SummerSlam.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Teddy’s Prediction:

This match will be incredible and a must-watch. I’ve been going back-and-forth on this one, but I have to go with Bálor retaining. Why take it off of him now? He has a lot of momentum going with the NXT title around his waist, so let’s keep the ball rolling.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Travis’ Prediction:

Sadly, the match that is probably going to be the best of the night is also the most predictable. Owens badly needs a win after a string of losses and poor performances on Raw, but he’s not going to get it here. Balor is, for the time being, the future of NXT and he’s got a lot of feuds left before he gets called to the main roster. Owens gets two chances for a win this weekend, anyway, and the chances are he’ll get it at SummerSlam over Cesaro.
