NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn Predictions: Jushin Liger vs. Tyler Breeze

Who will win the match of Jushin Liger vs. Tyler Breeze at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn? Find out what the Daily DDT staff has to say.

The match of Jushin “Thunder” Liger vs. Tyler Breeze will be a one night only match. Liger isn’t set to make any more WWE appearances after this, so this will be extra special.

The build for this began when Breeze demanded that NXT GM William Regal gets him a top opponent. Regal would surprise him by bringing in Liger, a Japanese wrestling legend who has competed for NJPW and ROH.

Now it’s time to get to who actually wins this match. What does the Daily DDT staff have to say about it? Check out our predictions for this NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn one night only match below:

Brandon’s Prediction:

I like that they brought in Liger as a big attraction, but I don’t think WWE has their guy lose to the outsider.

Prediction: Tyler Breeze

Callum’s Prediction:

A genuine contender for Match of the Night, Tyler Breeze has really been given a huge opportunity to shine against one of the greatest junior heavyweights in history. Jushin Liger is a very welcome addition to NXT due to his phenomenal ring skill and massive experience, and it will be a major test for Breeze to show he can keep up with one of the best. I don’t doubt he’s up to that task, but the question of the winner depends on whether WWE want a feel-good debut or give Breeze a big rub in front of a smart crowd. I think the latter is more fitting, so hopefully more likely.

Prediction: Tyler Breeze

Carl’s Prediction:

Jushin Liger, one of the greatest wrestlers ever. Now in NXT. This match has the potential to steal the show, both men are more than able to outperform anyone in the ring. As much as i want Liger to win i think it’ll be Breeze who takes the 3 count, that outcome just makes more sense than Liger winning on a one off appearance.

Prediction: Tyler Breeze

Evan G’s Prediction:

This match is one of the toughest to predict on the entire card. Breeze has kind of been in NXT purgatory, where there’s no spot for him on the main roster but not much for him to do in development. Liger definitely does not need a win to legitimize him since he is an established star, but I have trouble seeing WWE bringing in Liger just to lose.

Prediction: Jushin Liger

Jordan’s Prediction:

Breeze gets a major push here as he takes on the non-WWE version of John Cena. Liger probably gets the win but expect Breeze to look good throughout the match.

Prediction: Jushin Liger

Rob’s Prediction:

Jushin Liger has had an excellent wrestling career and getting in one WWE match may be the icing on the cake for him. Thus why I think Tyler Breeze will get the win here. He’s going to be here for the long run when it’s all said and done. However, these two may have the match of the night that stuns those who have no idea who Liger is.

Prediction: Tyler Breeze

Teddy’s Prediction:

This may be the coolest moment of the night in seeing Jushin “Thunder” Liger in a NXT ring. I think Liger does the honors for Tyler Breeze and puts him over. Breeze desperately needs a big win.

Prediction: Tyler Breeze

Travis’ Prediction:

Breeze has been in a holding pattern for about a year, and he will be no matter how this match plays out. Liger is a legend making his first appearance for the WWE. This is a big deal match that hasn’t been built up like one. Does the WWE give the win to a guy they may never work with again like Liger? Or to Breeze, who desperately needs to move forward? Look for Breeze to deliver his patented “Beauty Shot” on Liger and score the win, which will give him reason to demand a call-up to the WWE roster, or at least a title match against Balor.

Prediction: Tyler Breeze

It looks like we’re at 6-2 in favor of Breeze winning at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Who do you think wins this match?
