The Architect, Seth Rollins, has two huge matches at Night of Champions, but how should WWE book these matches?

More from WWE

Seth Rollins enters Night of Champions on Sunday as both the United States Champion and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Since every championship must be defended at Night of Champions, Rollins now must wrestle in two matches at the event.

First, Rollins will defend the United States Championship against John Cena in a rematch from SummerSlam. Then, Rollins must defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sting. With many different options on how to book these matches, this is how WWE should book them, to make sure Rollins still looks strong after the event.

In his first match against Cena, Rollins should lose clean in a hard back and forth battle. Having two titles is hard to do and it makes no sense for Rollins to continue to hold the United States Championship. Having Cena win the match would even their rivalry at a win a piece (Rollins defeated Cena at SummerSlam). This would make their next match at Hell in a Cell huge. Both men would enter this match looking to take 2 out of 3 from the feud. If WWE makes their match a Hell in a Cell match, it would be even more entertaining.

Cena winning the United States Championship is also the best thing for the championship as well. During his reign as United States Champion, Cena helped bring meaning and prestige to the title. He would be able to do the same thing again if he’s given back the belt. Cena could start his United States Challenge again on Raw. Doing this can help build and establish the mid card. Cena could then drop the belt to a future main event (Finn Balor for example). So booking Cena to win the United States Championship back at Night of Champions is the best move.

After Rollins faces Cena, he then has to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sting. Rollins should lose to Sting, but by disqualification, thus remaining the World Champion.

Having Sting win by disqualification accomplishes two things. Sting gets a win in WWE, and Rollins holds on to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Also, Rollins winning in devious way such as a low blow or using the belt as a weapon help amplifies him as a sneaky devious character. Having Rollins remain champion and continuing his feud with Cena is the smartest thing WWE do at Night of Champions.
