WWE MSG Show

Saturday, Oct. 3 will feature the WWE live special from Madison Square Garden. It will be the first WWE event broadcast from there since Survivor Series 2011.

The show should be entertaining. Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins vs. John Cena (inside a steel cage), Dudley Boyz vs. New Day, among others will be seen in NYC.

However, WWE has built this show around Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show. This will be Lesnar’s first match since WWE SummerSlam in August.

WWE has tried building this match up by attempting to make Show a credible threat. Unfortunately for the company, no fan is buying this. Lesnar, arguably the top attraction, won’t be losing to the World’s Largest Athlete in 2015. Not a chance. The effort that WWE is putting into this is arguably hurting the show.

Like they did with Beast in the East, maybe Lesnar vs. Show goes on in the middle of the live special. The match is bound to be a glorified squash, so closing the show with it wouldn’t make sense. If anything, Rollins vs. Cena for the WWE United States Championship inside a steel cage should be headlining the show. If WWE chooses to go that route, this could be a solid show.
