Match of the Year or Match of the Decade?

For the first time, an NXT TakeOver event is really going to be headlined by women. No, not how they usually bill the shows as a “double main event” since the men go on last. This is truly a women’s main event that will feature Bayley defending her NXT Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks in a 30-minute Ironwoman match at NXT TakeOver: Respect.

There is some great excitement for this bout. This is mostly due to the must-watch classic that these two women put on at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn for the title. It saw Bayley win her first-ever championship in NXT in grand fashion.

Everyone felt this bout was a Match of the Year candidate, arguably topping the bouts that Charlotte and Sasha put on earlier in the year. But now with this 30-minute Ironwoman match, “Sky’s the Limit” for Bayley and Sasha.

Is it going to be difficult to top what they did in August? Of course but they have the ability to with this type of match in the prime spot on the card. Who knows, maybe they’ll put on the Match of the Year or one of the greatest women’s matches we’ve ever seen. Bayley will likely win but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a fun, long ride to get there.
