“Stone Cold” Steve Austin Returns to WWE Raw

WWE’s ratings have been horrible (more on that later) and they’re doing anything possible to boost them. Arguably the most desperate attempt was announcing company legends who will be on the go-home Raw before WWE Hell in a Cell on Oct. 19. Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will all be on the show.

Austin’s presence is the most notable, though.

The Rattlesnake has not appeared on a WWE TV show in a few years. He has stuck to making WrestleMania appearances and his Stone Cold Podcast, which takes place backstage at Raw about once a month (more on that later as well). This makes his advertised appearance even more surprising.

Austin is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all-time and draws a huge reaction wherever he goes. This should still be the case despite the appearance being advertised. Austin will be on a panel with Michaels and Flair to discuss the Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match at Hell in a Cell.

Fans will be hoping Austin shows some type of sign that he will be wrestling at WrestleMania 32, which is in his home state of Texas (so is this episode of Raw). He slammed the reports last week of having a match at the show of shows as he’s done over and over. Despite this, people will have to see it to believe it that he won’t be competing in one last bout.

However, Austin’s appearance on Raw will be special either way and certainly draw extra eyes to the product for one night.
