Will Sheamus Become WWE World Heavyweight Champion?

We’re on a path to Seth Rollins defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Hell in a Cell this month against Kane. Fans highly doubt the Demon will win the title and headline shows but crazier things have happened.

For whoever wins, though, Sheamus will be lurking in the background since he’s the Money in the Bank holder, guaranteeing him a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. There’s one question that comes from this: Should we really care?

Sheamus stuck around on WWE programming for most of the four weeks before Night of Champions. He did not appear on the match card but tried cashing in Money in the Bank on Rollins until Kane showed up. Since then, we’ve barely seen the Celtic Warrior on WWE programming. He showed up for a brief time on the Raw after Night of Champions but was not seen on Monday or at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings. If this is the guy who’s going to be the future company champion, at least get the guy on TV.

We still have 24 days until Hell in a Cell, so we’ll see how WWE books Sheamus until then. He is in no position for a match on the card, so it looks like we could get a similar scenario to what happened last month. A cash-in may be more likely here, however, since Kane and Rollins will likely wrestle inside Hell in a Cell, WWE’s most dangerous structure. The match won’t be main-eventing, though and a cash-in is usually featured in the main event.

Whether you like it or not, that guy who you chant “You look stupid” at may become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion by month’s end. Let that sink in.
