Pro: Kane’s New Gimmick

Alright, Kane’s new gimmick is FANTASTIC.

Corporate Kane was getting undeniably stale. Nobody wanted to see a guy who used to wreak havoc and set people on fire act like he works a 9-5. While not every fan wanted to see the mask come back, at the very least this character needed to undergo a change. And undergo a change it did.

Kane is now one of the most entertaining characters in WWE. His split-personality gimmick is the best change he’s undergone since joining the company.

Finally, Kane is funny. And I don’t mean “Team Hell-No, arguing with Daniel Bryan during therapy” funny. No, actually funny. His over-the-top nice guy persona has enhanced the Corporate Kane character in a monumental way. He talks as if he’s a secretary who’s worried he’ll be fired if he shows an ounce of irritation. It’s just a fantastic over-exaggeration of what Corporate Kane used to be, and it’s hilarious.

And to make it even better? He pretends he doesn’t know about Demon Kane.

Sure, he hints at it, but the fact that he won’t openly acknowledge it is awesome. SmackDown was a perfect example, when he had to go to the back during the Kane/Dudleys vs. Rollins/New Day match. For those that don’t know, Rollins said Demon Kane could be in the match, as long as Corporate Kane was at ringside. So Demon Kane didn’t show, but Corporate Kane got hurt during the match from a Rollins dive, so he limped backstage, but not before laughing in Rollins face. Then, of course, Demon Kane came out and destroyed everyone (except Rollins who escaped over the barricade).

If it weren’t for this feud, we wouldn’t have been blessed with this great character change.
