Is a Dolph Ziggler Heel Turn Imminent?

With John Cena leaving after Hell in a Cell, is the WWE planning a Dolph Ziggler heel turn to have Ziggler win the United States Championship against Cena?

Dolph Ziggler helped Team Cena eliminate Team Authority, putting the Authority out of power at last year’s Survivor Series. Following his victory at Survivor Series, Ziggler beat Luke Harper at the following pay per view, WWE TLCS: Tables, Ladders, Chairs, and Stairs, winning his fourth Intercontinental Championship. But what has Ziggler done since that PPV?

Following John Cena reinstating the Authority, Ziggler, Ryback, and Erick Rowan were all three fired for being participants in Team Cena. Ziggler ended up losing his Intercontinental title to Bad News Barrett, then participated in an Intercontinental Championship ladder match. Do not get me wrong, there was an epic moment between Daniel Bryan and Ziggler on top of the ladder, them going blow-for-blow, sharing head-butts, with Bryan coming out the victor.

But since then, Ziggler has feuded with a then returning Sheamus, facing the Celtic Warrior in a meaningless “Kiss Me Arse” match at Extreme Rules, to being mixed in a love square with Rusev, Lana, and Summer Rae.

So if Ziggler were to turn heel, what kind of heel would he be portrayed as?

Personally, I feel if the WWE wanted to turn Dolph Ziggler heel, they need to portray Ziggler as a womanizer, the type of heel that wants to be with women, but yet has total disregard for their emotions.

While involved with Lana, in storyline, Ziggler gave Summer Rae a pair of earrings as a peace offering. But Ziggler then proceeds to say “Sometimes a rose is just a rose, but then again, sometimes it means more.”

Currently Ziggler is involved in a real life love triangle between his ex-girlfriend, Nikki Bella, and her current boyfriend, United States champion John Cena.

So how would the WWE work in the real life drama into in-ring drama you might ask? You start the Ziggler heel turn with Ziggler having a backstage moment with Nikki Bella, like the moment the pair shared during the season finale of Total Divas (see clip below).

During a John Cena promo, have Ziggler come out all the things that Ziggler can provide for Nikki that Cena would never provide (again, see clip below). Then after the on-microphone back and forth between the two, Ziggler says, “If I cannot have your woman, then I want a shot at the United States Championship!”

Understandably, the WWE just came out of a soap opera of a mess, which ended with Rusev getting engaged to his real life girlfriend, Lana, thus ending feud. But, how would Dolph Ziggler work as a womanizing heel? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
