John Cena and The Dudley Boyz vs. The New Day

Result: The New Day defeats John Cena and The Dudley Boyz via pinfall.

Rating: 2.6 out of 5 stars

Before the match started, Xavier Woods said New Day brought magic back to WWE. Big E said everything is “booty” in Texas.

Kofi and Bubba Ray began this match. Bubba hit a Judo Throw, slammed Kofi with a few Irish Whips and a big elbow. D-Von tagged in and dropped an elbow as Kofi rolled out of the ring.

We come back from commercial to see New Day trading stomps on Cena. Kofi finished with a dropkick for a near-fall. Woods tagged in and planted Cena for a near-fall.

Big E tagged in and hit a side slam for a near-fall. He hit a suplex on Cena but the latter came back and got the hot tag on D-Von.

D-Von hit multiple clotheslines and pancaked Kofi. Woods tagged in and got clotheslined. Cena then took out Big E on the outside with a dive but Woods rolled up D-Von in the ring for the win.

After the match, everyone started brawling. Cena hit the AA on Woods and the Dudleys put him through a table.

Rob’s Note: First, the New Day continues to be awesome. Second, I don’t love the post-match antics because it made the faces look like heels coming back to get some revenge for losing. Sets up things for Sunday, though.

Cena will also be facing a mystery opponent at Hell in a Cell for the WWE United States Championship. Any guesses?

Hell in a Cell Announcement

The announcers tell us that Randy Orton is apparently injured and will not be at Hell in a Cell this Sunday. He was supposed to team with Dean Ambrose to face Luke Harper and Braun Strowman on the kickoff show.
