Dean Ambrose Will Be Crucial to Roman Reigns’ Heel Turn
If Roman Reigns is going to turn heel at Survivor Series and align with The Authority, Dean Ambrose will be an integral part of the turn.
As soon as Triple H called for Roman Reigns to join him in the ring during the opening segment of Monday Night Raw, my mind began plotting.
Plotting a booking that would see Reigns align with The Authority. Of course, my first inclination was about how The Rock sided with The Corporation at Survivor Series of 1998. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one that thought this as my colleague, Michael Whitlow, wrote an excellent piece on the comparison yesterday.

At this point, it would be a disappointment if Reigns does not turn heel at Survivor Series and join The Authority.
That would be why a turn needs to happen. In order for a turn to happen, Dean Ambrose will be crucial to the process.
Since WrestleMania 31, no two superstars have been closer than Ambrose and Reigns. Reigns and Ambrose have essentially been booked as brothers in arms. That is why when Reigns turns heel, it needs to be against Ambrose in the last round of the WWE World Heavyweight championship tournament.
Ambrose has proven to be perfect at selling a heel turn. It was Ambrose that contributed to build of Seth Rollins as the company’s top heel after Rollins turned on The Shield. Ambrose’s hatred for Rollins served as inspiration for the WWE Universe to do the same. Ambrose’s feud with Rollins, which lasted throughout the fall portion of the 2014 calendar year, propelled both superstars into main event status. Ambrose was a main event face character while Rollins was a main event heel character.
WWE needs to tap into that well once more.

During the match between Reigns and Ambrose at Survivor Series, WWE needs to create a controversial finish. Perhaps the referee counts “1, 2, 3” while Reigns is pinning Ambrose but does not see that Ambrose has his leg on the rope. Something along those lines needs to happen at the finish of the match. That would be when Triple H comes down to declare Reigns the winner. Instead of insisting that match be restarted, Reigns shakes Triple H’s hand and accepts his role as not only the new WWE World Heavyweight champion but as the “face” of the company. Reigns will seal the show off with a spear on Ambrose. Survivor Series comes to an end with Reigns and Triple H standing in the ring celebrating.
Ambrose and Reigns could then carry a feud into the early months of 2016. During this feud, Ambrose’s hatred for Reigns will be emulated by the WWE Universe. And Reigns, much like Rollins in 2014, would become the company’s top heel.
