5 WWE Stars Who Need a Character Makeover

John Cena
Probably one of the biggest reasons why a lot of wrestling fans like to boo and hate John Cena is that we haven’t seen any evolution of the character since he made the switch from the Doctor of Thuganomics and is just someone who goes out to promote showing hustle, loyalty and respect.
The basic Cena match formula was very basic for the longest time in that many of us would know how it was going to go down – like being presented with a basic addition or subtraction problem in school. The company teased it slightly during a feud with Kane and that Cena needed to channel the inner bad guy.

Now this portion of the article is not going to be the whole “Cena needs to turn heel” argument. Instead, I want to see Cena change his look, maybe his music and maybe go back to cutting freestyle raps that got him over with the crowds about 10 years ago. No need for changing color schemes, jean shorts and sweat bands.
Cena is the perfect example of what can happen when a WWE superstar doesn’t evolve over time and stays within a comfort zone for too long. The hope would be that fans can see a different Cena when he makes his return from the reality television tapings.
