Dean Ambrose

Speaking of superstars who don’t really fit into the babyface role, there’s so much potential for someone like Dean Ambrose to embrace the insane and mentally disturbed persona to make a classic heel.

When you view some of his early promos from Florida Championship Wrestling or in his feud with Seth Rollins after the breakup of the Shield, having Ambrose walk to the ring with a gun holster and spraying hot dog condiments on other wrestlers just doesn’t mix. The thing about the creative staff is that they don’t seem to want to pull the trigger on bringing some darkness to the talents.

Sure, there is Bray Wyatt. But with Ambrose, you could focus more on someone not seeming to be in a perfect mental health would have a lot more possibilities. At least when you book Ambrose to lose, it’s can still make sense considering he could continue the gimmick as someone who feels there’s nothing to lose since he’s already crazy and doesn’t try to put himself over as the new face of fear.

Come on WWE creative writers, let’s bring professional wrestling their version of Hannibal Lecter – just take out the whole cannibalism thing and focus more on the insane person playing mind games.
