This is the first change to our WrestleMania 32 card projections.

This week, we learned Sami Zayn would be returning to WWE NXT soon after missing 6 months due to an injured shoulder. His last match was against Kevin Owens, who put him out in storyline during their NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable match. The bout ended in a no contest and left their feud without a conclusion.

Why not pick things back up for WrestleMania 32?

Zayn and Owens’ feud goes back to their time in ROH, when they were El Generico and Kevin Steen, respectively. They had multiple battles that transferred over to WWE NXT is Dec. 2014.

Putting these two into a match on Apr. 3 isn’t an uncommon idea. The scenario everyone dreams of is Zayn coming out during the Royal Rumble in Jan. to take out Owens from the match and lead to a WrestleMania 32 contest to settle things. It makes plenty of sense to do, as getting this rivalry on the grandest stage of them all would be satisfying.
