Becky Lynch Must Face Charlotte for WWE Divas Title After Paige

While Becky Lynch wasn’t seen on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, she must be Charlotte’s next foe.

Team PCB, which consisted of Charlotte, Paige, and Becky Lynch, is gone. For a few months, the team became Team CB (although never formally recognized as that) until recently.

First, Charlotte and Becky were not seen coming to the ring together as much. This seemed like an inconsistency. However, tensions soon grew between the friends, which started with Paige planting seeds in the Irishwoman’s head. She called Charlotte “fake”, among other words on the Nov. 30 edition of Raw. The British Diva also mentioned to Becky that she deserves a shot at the Nature Girl.

Well, Becky ended up listening to Paige and challenged Charlotte. The Champion was reluctant at first but agreed. This led to a match that evening with Ric Flair’s daughter winning via roll up as she feigned an injury. The Nature Boy stood on the apron to provide the distraction. This left the former Team B.A.E. member confused as her friend walked away.

Despite this, Becky’s time isn’t here yet for the WWE Divas Championship. She has to wait for the impending match with Paige at WWE TLC to end before getting a chance. If Charlotte wins that bout, Lynch must be next in line.

There is cause for concern, however.

Becky was not seen on last night’s Raw despite being featured in a post-show video. As noted above, she played a major role last week, so her absence was odd.

In the clip above, she essentially referred to herself as an afterthought, that she’ll just sit back and watch. That may be fine to do in real-life drama, but when you’re battling for a spot on a three-hour show, it’s a different story.

The expectation for WWE TLC is that Charlotte will defeat Paige to retain the title. They seemingly have a lot behind the former and the pairing with her father, so this reign will last for a little while. Beating the first NXT Women’s Champion would also leave an opening for a new feud. With many expecting Sasha Banks to take on Charlotte at WrestleMania 32 for the title, now is the time for Lynch to get her opportunity to shine.

A title shot for the former Rebecca Knox would come at WWE Royal Rumble in Jan. While she would be a heavy underdog to win, being inserted as the No. 1 Contender would give her some steam. Any bit of momentum for her is much-needed and we’ve seen a program is probably happening with Charlotte, so why not make this occur?

Lynch has been an afterthought since arriving to the main roster in Jul. Giving her a chance of winning the title would be great for her character and show WWE can spread the wealth with pushing deserving performers.
