10. Kevin Owens
Last Rank: –
Week Highlights: Returned to WWE TV after having the flu.
Owens’ absence was untimely given the few amount of weeks to build up the storyline with Dean Ambrose. The match between the two is arguably the most intriguing on the TLC card, and it could very well be the match of the night, but the lack of interaction beforehand has watered down the stakes.
9. Jack Swagger
Last Rank: 10
Week Highlights: Rabidly flailed chairs and made a heartfelt appeal to former mentor, Zeb Colter.
Swagger is bringing a great intensity to his feud with Del Rio, but we’ve seen similar from him before. If the past is any indication, he could once again disappear after TLC, even if a Zeb Colter reconciliation is on the horizon.
8. Team ECW
Last Rank: 9
Week Highlights: Enlisted Rhyno as their fourth member. Witnessed Tommy Dreamer get routinely mauled by the Wyatts.
The name “Team Extreme” is already taken, so the band of the Dudley Boyz, Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno has been labeled Team ECW. Although their strategic reunion to challenge the Wyatts would have been more suitable for Survivor Series, parlaying the situation into an Elimination Tables Match at TLC has been well-conceived.
7. The Wyatt Family
Last Rank: 8
Week Highlights: Got everyone extremely excited on Monday Night Raw, albeit only for a few minutes.
Seeing the Wyatts walk out on Raw and challenge the League of Nations for WWE supremacy was electrifying… Too bad it was only to set precedence for a sixteen-man tag match. It’s disappointing, too. That kind of universal assertion and presence is what the Wyatt Family fans have clamored for since their inception, and Monday night gave us a tease of what could be the Wyatt Family’s future greatness.
6. Paige
Last Rank: 7
Week Highlights: Slapped Ric Flair.
Paige wasn’t on WWE TV too much this past week, but for the short time she was, it was very clear that she has found new life in this feud with Charlotte. To put things in perspective, a little over a week ago she was the obvious villain. Now she’s slapping legends in the face, and people are actually cheering when she does. That’s quite an accomplishment given her minimal exposure.
