How to watch the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and the match card for the show

Sunday night will feature the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The show will emanate from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. As always, it will be headlined by the Royal Rumble match.

The Royal Rumble contest is a 30-man battle royal where two Superstars begin the bout. After 90 seconds, another Superstar will enter the ring, and it continues until all 30 men have entered. One must throw their opponent over the top rope to successfully eliminate them. The winner of this match would usually go on to main event WrestleMania in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

However, the difference with the 2016 version is Roman Reigns will defend the belt in the match. The winner will become the WWE WHC.

More from Royal Rumble

Reigns will be entering at No. 1 in this battle royal match. It means he has to go through 29 other Superstars to retain his belt. This won’t be the first time he has had to go through tests, as Vince McMahon has put the former Shield man in situations to his disadvantage. The Chairman most notably made himself the special guest referee for Reigns’ title defense against Sheamus on Raw on Jan. 4, but the Celtic Warrior couldn’t succeed in winning. Vince responded with setting up this Rumble stipulation.

The question is simple: can Reigns go through 29 Superstars?

The other significant match at Royal Rumble is Dean Ambrose defending the Intercontinental Championship in a Last Man Standing Match against Kevin Owens. These two have feuded for the past few months with Ambrose winning the title off KO at WWE TLC in Dec. 2015. After multiple bouts, this seems to be their last contest. Who will become incapacitated by the end of the match?

The last noteworthy match is for the Divas Championship between Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Since turning heel on her friend, the Nature Girl has looked to keep the title away from the Irishwoman as much as possible. She achieved this with a cheap pin in a title defense on SmackDown on Jan. 7 and that seemed to be it. Becky would come back with a challenge for Royal Rumble, which Ric Flair reluctantly accepted for his daughter. Will we see a title change?

Also set for the show is Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto in a rematch for the U.S. Championship. Can the Lucha Dragon regain the title?

Lastly, New Day will defend their belts against The Usos.
