9) Edge – WrestleMania 24 (2008)
For the second consecutive year, it was Undertaker putting his streak on the line for the World Heavyweight Championship – this time against the “Ultimate Opportunist” Edge. It was a point where Edge was becoming one of the top heels in the WWE and also holding onto that championship after using a number of different ways to win at all costs.
Then again, Edge would give us the type of match at the main event of WrestleMania 24 that he would dream of with plenty of back and forth action. This one was no different with Edge delivering a low blow and a shot with a camera after the referee was knocked out by accident. But after Undertaker sat up to deliver the Tombstone for a near two-count, the Edgehead tag team ran out to provide distraction.
After a spear only gave Edge a two count, fans thought we were about to see the end of the streak when he delivered another spear moments later. But only seconds after the second spear, Undertaker suddenly applied the Hell’s Gates submission where Edge fought with everything he had left to reach the ropes – but to no avail. Once again, the streak was preserved and the Deadman was holding the World Heavyweight Championship.
