Fantasy Booking Finn Balor’s WWE Debut

Finn Balor’s debut will be monumental when it happens, but how exactly should it go down?

Finn Balor’s debut has essentially become the Loch Ness Monster of WWE. People are doing all they can to figure out when and where they might see it, but at this point, it’s become futile to even try to predict. Balor is undoubtedly the biggest tease in the business, posting tweets and videos that indicate he could be coming to the main roster soon, only for them to end up meaning diddly squat. This video is one that really got fans talking as it features Balor saying “See you on Monday” the same night he lost his NXT title.

Fans have been clamoring for Balor’s main roster debut for well over a year now, and with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on the main roster and Balor having just lost his NXT championship, the rumors are running more rampant than ever before. Odds are we won’t know when Balor is going to debut until it actually happens, but there is a time and place for everything and it seems his time could be coming. The following is how I believe Balor should debut in order to maximize not only his role in WWE, but those of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson as well.

Let’s fast forward to Extreme Rules. AJ Styles is facing Roman Reigns for the WWE championship and Styles has all but banned Gallows and Anderson from interfering. But knowing them, they probably won’t listen and will get involved because of their excessive allegiance to Styles. The ideal ending for this match would be for Gallows and Anderson to accidentally distract Styles rather than help him. Something along the lines of the two of them trying to attack Reigns, Styles telling them he can do it himself, and then getting pinned while trying to remedy the situation.

The next night on Raw, Styles comes out and says although Gallows and Anderson are his brothers, he can’t be aligned with them anymore because they don’t know when to back off. This leads to the two of them coming out and not attacking Styles for abandoning them. This goes on for the next few weeks; Gallows and Anderson just beating on Styles and interfering in his matches to no end. Until finally, in the midst of another one of their attacks, the lights go out, and we hear:

He walks out as Gallows and Anderson look to the ramp stunned with a battered Styles right behind them. Balor makes his way to the ring, stares down the two men, and helps Styles take them down. After they dispose of Gallows and Anderson, Balor grabs a mic and says “I’ve known you two for a long time, we were like brothers in Japan, but what you’ve been doing since you got here is wrong, and I’m going to help make it right. So at Money in the Bank, it’s gonna be you two vs AJ Styles and Finn Balor. Good luck.”

At Money in the Bank, the stage is set for the tag match. The teams go at it in what should probably be the match of the night. As it nears its end, Styles reaches to tag Balor in one last time, but Balor jumps off the apron. Styles stares at him in shock as Gallows and Anderson recover, hit him with the Magic Killer, and get the win. The trio then beat on Styles for what feels like a decade, ending with Styles being thrown through the announce table. Thus, Balor Club is formed, and we have the beginning of what could be the feud of the year: Finn Balor vs AJ Styles.

Coming back to reality now, as we’ve gone through the past few weeks, it’s clear Gallows and Anderson are meant to be a heel team, and that’s why they’ve been butting heads with Styles to an extent. It doesn’t look like Styles is going to turn heel anytime soon, so the duo is going to need a leader, and that is why Balor joins the fold. Essentially, everything I just described was Balor’s plan all along. He was always intending to turn on Styles and join his brothers from Japan, he just wanted to do it the right way.

The biggest reason this makes sense is because Balor would debut as a babyface, which is what he’s been in NXT his entire career. It wouldn’t make sense for him to come up and immediately be a heel because it would make fans wonder why he had such a sudden change. It needs to be a semi-gradual build, even if it’s just a few weeks, and that’s what this would accomplish. A babyface debut with a heel turn shortly after that culminates in Balor Club being introduced as the new dominant force in WWE.
