Lilian Garcia Announces WWE Departure

Lilian Garcia announced she is no longer with WWE due to a personal issue.

Lilian Garcia has been an on and off member of WWE since 1999. She has done ring announcing, mostly for Raw, during this time. Her voice can be heard throughout from the end of the Attitude Era, the Ruthless Aggression Era, and the succeeding years.

However, it seems Garcia’s time in WWE has ended. She announced on her Instagram that she would be leaving the company to take care of her ill father. This has been a reason for her absence throughout the year.

Who replaces Lilian as the WWE Raw ring announcer remains to be seen. Although, JoJo took over on the July 25 episode. Greg Hamilton could be pushed to SmackDown.

Garcia is the second ring announcer to leave WWE this year. Following Cody Rhodes’ departure, his wife, Brandi “Eden” Rhodes, who handled SmackDown ring announcing, left as well.

WWE’s ring announcing will have a new look going forward. This is another subtle change to this “new era” on Raw and SmackDown, which has already seen new sets and commentary teams put into place.
