3. Hideo Itami Hits the GTS on Austin Aries
Hideo Itami is a man who has become a forgotten force in NXT. He’s been out injured for over a year, a period which saw him need two separate surgeries to repair his injured shoulder. In the weeks leading up to NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II he made his long awaited return on NXT tv, and on the night he made a massive statement of intent going forward.
Following Austin Aries’ win over No Way Jose, Aries didn’t want to stop the beating on the happy go lucky Jose. That lead to the familiar strains of Itami’s music hitting and the suited Itami made his way down to the ring. After both men had spent a minute or two brawling, it was time for Itami to make a real statement.
Aries has won this feud with No Way Jose and needed another man to step up to him and make something happen. The NXT crowd are still behind Itami big time and when he got Aries up on his shoulders they were all on their feet. They knew exactly what was coming.
Itami hit a massive Go To Sleep on Aries and left him laying. This will be potentially the hardest hitting feud in the history of NXT, and i for one cannot wait!
