WWE NXT: Spoilers for August and September

Follow along with our live spoilers of WWE NXT for shows from August to September.

On Thursday night, the latest WWE NXT taping will take place. This should feature fallout from NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, which saw one Superstar say goodbye, and other win the top title.

The main event of TakeOver saw Shinsuke Nakamura defeat Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship. This had been a hard-fought battle, but The King of Strong Style would walk out victorious with his first title win for the brand.

Nakamura will be at the taping and will be part of August 31’s show. He’ll speak about TakeOver, his title win, Samoa Joe, and more. NXT announced this on Wednesday’s episode. What could be said? Might a new challenger step up for the championship?

More from NXT

Asuka retained the NXT Women’s Championship over Bayley at TakeOver. It seems the latter is finished with NXT, as she debuted on the post-SummerSlam episode of WWE Raw. Someone new could step up for the belt on Wednesday. However, since another TakeOver event likely isn’t taking place for a few months, it’s possible this isn’t answered.

However, the newest member of NXT women’s division could show up. Ember Moon debuted at TakeOver and defeated Billie Kay. This showing might push the former Athena straight to the top, as there aren’t other established challengers. Besides Bayley, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and Nia Jax have been called up, leaving the women’s division scarce. Could someone new be made into a legitimate threat toward The Empress of Tomorrow?

The NXT tag team division will be something to monitor as well. After retaining the NXT Tag Team Championships over Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, The Revival are left without challengers. This could have been TM-61, but they lost to The Authors of Pain on the recent episode of NXT. Does that mean Akam and Rezer are next in line?  What could this indicate for the newly-minted DIY team after their TakeOver loss?
