WWE Raw Results: Highlights, Analysis, and Grades for January 16
Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, and Kevin Owens
Result: Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, and Kevin Owens defeats Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn via pinfall.
Rating: 3.25 out of 5 stars
This main event delivered big time as a fun six-man tag team match. It brought back memories of the old era of six-man bouts in early 2014, which saw high-flying action and plenty of carnage with the Shield and Wyatt Family all over the place.
The focus would be placed on Strowman, who battled with Zayn again and came out on top once the final bell rang. WWE have done an excellent job building him up as a top heel and the potential frontrunner to win the Royal Rumble match. That’s even with Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Rollins, and Jericho all involved.
The post-match antics further pushed the Owens vs. Reigns match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. This also saw the Big Dog get the only offense on a big-name yet again, as he first got to Lesnar in the opener and Strowman here. If you needed any indication that Reigns is the top guy, there you go, as small of moments as those may have been.

Everything seen here capped off an episode of Raw that wasn’t necessarily the best, but delivered at times. The opening and closing moments were executed well and some of the in-ring action was fun too. Parts of the show dragged, especially around the 10:00 p.m. hour with the New Day and Charlotte. There seemed to be takeaways from everything, though, which is something that can’t be said about most episodes of the supposed “A” show.
