Friends No Longer
After months of teasing their eventual split, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens broke apart in the most impactful of ways. During the “Festival of Friendship” on RAW last week, Owens offered Jericho a gift in return for an entertaining evening. When Jericho opened up the present he discovered a new list, only it had his name on it. It was at that moment that he and the WWE Universe came to realize that Owens had decided this friendship had gone on far enough.

Dropping his Universal Championship, Owens went on to deliver a ferocious beating to his former best friend. Taking it to Jericho both in and outside of the ring, Owens would cap it off by throwing Y2J into a television monitor. This is the aggressive side we’ve been chomping at the bit to see from the champion, and his shocking betrayal has helped to garner him a ton of heat. He now finds himself heading into his match against Goldberg with newfound momentum.
The only issue at hand for Owens (besides Goldberg) is the fact that he now has a former six-time world champion gunning for him. Jericho is a master manipulator, and one can assume that had Owens chosen not to pull the plug on the friendship, Jericho eventually would’ve. Instead, Y2J now feels a combination of anger and sadness, emotions which he’ll be looking to unleash on the champion.

Their feud will pick up steam on RAW, but the real nail in the coffin will occur at Fastlane. Based on the way things look at the moment, one can assume Jericho has his eyes set on costing Owens the title. That means Goldberg will probably leave Fastlane with the belt, making his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania that much more interesting.
