WWE SmackDown Live Results: Highlights, Analysis, and Grades for February 28

MizTV with John Cena
At the top of the hour, SmackDown Live begins with Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon backstage. Approached by AJ Styles, the Phenomenal One goes on a tirade about how he “won” the battle royal last week. Taking a few jabs at Luke Harper, he ends up storming away when Harper reveals himself behind his foe. In a surprising gesture, Harper offers a thank you to both Bryan and Shane, ending the opening segment.
Next up, The Miz is inside the ring with his wife Maryse for another installment of MizTV. Tonight his guest is John Cena, the man who eliminated him from the battle royal. Before Cena can even mutter a word, Miz has his microphone turned off so that he can unleash a scathing promo. Various insults ensue, and he makes sure to remind fans of how he beat Cena at WrestleMania XXVII. Alluding to him as “Decent Cena” as opposed to his once superman-like stature, Miz allows his guest to respond.
Breaking down the fourth wall, Cena states that if he really had pull in the company, he wouldn’t be standing in the ring with The Miz. Instead, he’d be standing toe to toe with The Undertaker (something we’d all like to see). Cena goes on to rip Miz apart verbally, listing all the mannerisms and move sets he’s copied from other popular stars throughout his career. He warns Miz not to test him, and goes to leave the ring before Maryse interrupts.
Issuing a few insults and backing up her husband, Maryse’s night quickly turns sour when Nikki Bella comes out to the ring. This causes Miz and his wife to bolt, leaving the second biggest power couple in the business standing in the ring.
